Fall In with Me

Hello and welcome to my little piece of the internet. I've always wanted to have a place to share my fashion loves and finds with friends and family so posting them here seem's like the perfect place to begin.

Autumn./ Fall is truly my favorite time of the year. Cosy evenings by the fire, wrapping up warm for winter walks and heading to all the outdoor festivity all sound so inviting that they have me reaching for big oversized coats, knitted scarves and well worn leather boots and its only the first week of September.

Unfortunately the end of summer in Ireland is always signaled by the heavy downpours that come along with the back to school uniforms and cao offers. So dressing for these winter months need to not only be stylish but practical for the Irish rain and cold

Fashion at this time of the year is always in a transitional state. End of the summer sale's means the ushering in of new season a/w 13 product to the high street whilst designers all over the world are already showcasing their S/S 14 collections at New York Fashion week. With so many trends been put forward it can be hard to know which ones will suit us best as individuals and which ones will sustain us through the coming months and hold out as investment pieces.

What to watch out for and keep in mind when shopping for your Winter Wardrobe

Outwear Trends; Oversized, Duffle, Pea Coats, Barbour and Waxed Coats.
Colours; Camel, Pink and Plaid along with the classics Navy, Black and Grey

Rain Coats and Mac's; Beige and Navy Trenches will take you through the seasons, Opt for one's with hoods and keep an eye out for water proof indicators. A drawstring waist will flatter all body shapes.

Trousers; Personal favorites at this time of year are a classic blue skinny denim with a faded or ripped wash. A good pair of black jeans and leggings to wear with oversized jumpers and knits that fit neatly into boots.

Skirts; An area of one's wardrobe that can be poorly neglected. Current trends of knee length skirts can be so elegant and flattering- opt for on trend check pattern, red or black leather to pair with woolen jumpers and silky shirts. Black tights and pointed ballets will create a polished and effortless outfit.

Shirts and Knitwear; A long sleeve cream or winter white shirt will be a staple wardrobe piece that can be worn over and over again, layered with scarves and knitwear. A higher price tag  is worth the wear it will provide. Knitwear at this time of the wear is a must buy, Merino Wool is effortlessly chic and cable knit sweaters are making a pleasant comeback in all shades. Hounds tooth knit has carried over this season and Cashmere will always be a luxury knit for winter. Breton stripes and organic cottons of all colours are staple pieces that are a must have in all wardrobes.

Shoes/Boots; Brown and Black are the only colours that every seem to appear in my footwear wardrobe- hence I tend to invest most in these items. Brown Boots from Aldo or Dune have carried me through winter after Winter. Ankle boots from Buffalo or Topshop are great key pieces that can take you from Day to Night and Thigh High Boots may also be a piece worth looking into this season if your brave enough to try them. Pointed Flat's, Fur Moccasin's and Brogues will be worth investing in this season.
